After 16 hours at the computer author morphs into a New Species, unknown to man . . .
This is my Journey into the self publishing world.
Writing the book was a piece of cake as I am naturally creative and can easily get lost in the worlds I create. Many times writing for ten hours straight and thinking I have only written for two; forgetting to eat and not having the need to relieve myself.
Editing the book, on the other hand, is crazy! As an author i’ve already memorized my book so when i edit, i read it in my minds eye the way it’s supposed to read and in doing so not even see left out words. I wrote this book over a three month period in 2007 and proceeded to edit it, on and off, for the last six years . . . Crazzzy hugh! How many times can you read over a 600 page Youth Fantasy and correct typos, punctuation and grammar!'
Although the timeline did included the mother board crashing in my HP numerous times; Having to retype the original document twice. My crazy moments of screaming and yelling at my computer.
Why God, Why!
After all that I switched to Mac. (I only use MAC products now!)
Keeping myself motivated through all this craziness prompted me to do paintings of the characters in my book. I also animate the characters using Crazytalk 7. Now someone told me I'll have to animate these same characters in Crazytalk 7 Pro, if I want to upload them to YouTube. These creative outlets are super fun and definite tension relievers, but Really!
I have to animate them all over again!
( I'll post the artwork and YouTube Videos at a later date, I need to buy Crazytalk 7 Pro now!)
So why didn’t I just have someone edit it for me. Well basically it came down to the allocation of $$$$, working full time, paying bills, caring for my husband and critters. And of course lets not leave out travel.
And then there’s that little voice that sometimes stops me in my tracks and asks:
"Is it good enough? . . .Who’s voice is that anyway? . . . I don’t like it!
Get out of my head!"
"I’m not Listening!!!!!"
These moments are when you have to be like Gandalf at the Gate. Tell those voices of self doubt
“You may not pass!”
Sometimes you just have to invest in yourself . . . So, Bookbaby.com here I come. (I had no idea how reasonably priced self publishing could be) I’ll let you do the formatting, publishing and distribution. I’ll do the PR with a lot of the tools your providing and Use Weebly.com for my web site /blog and and blogger.com

Well, the final proof of my book has been push back because some pages are askew.
